A Wireless Charging Pad That Feels Almost OEM For The Polestar 2

My 2022 Polestar 2 only has the Pilot package. This package, albeit sufficient for me, does not include a very common feature. A wireless charging pad. Wireless charging gives your car a more premium feel. It allows you to quickly drop your phone into place, and it will charge as you drive to your destination.

If you are fortunate enough to have the Plus package, then this feature is already built in. However, there have been reports of iPhone users having heat related issues with it. Even to the extent of placing another QI wireless charging pad overtop of it to bypass the built-in wireless charger.

In either case, I found the perfect wireless charging pad that fits snugly in the phone slot. It charges without issue every time I throw the phone into place. As with all wireless charging, it is not the quickest charging rate. But, it works to keep your phone topped off.

With this Wireless charging pad, I use simply the mat and not the holder. You are able to wrap the cable up and stuff it to the back right. The charging pad cable, is a non-removable USB-C. To make it even cleaner, you could probably get an L shape USB-C to USB-C to make it cleaner.

I used the supplied double-sided sticky tape to hold it in place about 2 cm away from the rear of the slot. My Samsung Note 20 fits right on top of the pad and starts charging every time without placement issues. I have been using this setup since I purchased the car a few months ago. I am fairly pleased so far.
