Polestar 3 To Cost €75,000-€110,000 Per CEO Thomas Ingenlath

Thomas Ingenlath spoke at Automotive News Europe Congress and has gone on record to say that due to the US dollar and the Euro's parity in exchange rates, pricing will be comparable in the US. You can expect the cost range to be between €75,000-€110,000.

The Polestar 3 is expected to be manufactured at the South Carolina plant with the upcoming XC90 successor. The first SUV from Polestar will make its debut in October 2022 and go into production in the US and China in early 2023.

"Polestar 3 is the SUV for the electric age. Our design identity evolves with this high-end large luxury EV, with a strong, individual brand character. With this car, we bring the 'sport' back to the SUV, staying true to our performance roots." – Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO

This level of pricing indicates that it will face competition from entry-level and mid-range Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe variants. Which is steep competition for any manufacturer. However with a 125% increase in sales the first half of 2022. Polestar states say they are on track for the remainder of the year.

Polestar has also announced the Polestar 4 which is a Volvo XC60-sized vehicle. The business anticipates selling 43,000 units globally when it launches in the US in 2024, followed by 79,000 in 2025. In late 2023, China is projected to start producing the sporty SUV.

"It's exciting for the whole team to experience this growing momentum in our business. Our order intake is at record levels and currently represents an annualized run-rate of over 75,000 vehicles, putting us in a strong position as the production landscape normalizes." – Mike Whittington, Head of Global Sales at Polestar
