On Thursday morning, Polestar made an announcement that contributed to a 2.47% increase in PSNY shares during early trading.

Polestar Automotive (NASDAQ:PSNY) made a noteworthy announcement on Thursday, revealing its partnership with Tesla (TSLA) to adopt the new North American Charging Standard (NACS). This strategic collaboration will provide all Polestar drivers in the United States and Canada with access to the highly regarded Supercharger network.

The agreement encompasses both current and future Polestar models. To ensure compatibility with North America's existing CCS public fast charging infrastructure, upcoming Polestar vehicles equipped with NACS will come with a CCS adapter.

Polestar also shared its plan to equip all new Polestar (PSNY) vehicles sold in North America after 2025 with the NACS charging port as a default feature. Adapters, designed to facilitate convenient access to the network for existing Polestar drivers, are expected to be available by mid-2024.

CEO Thomas Ingenlath expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "With 12,000 charging points available today, a number that will undoubtedly grow, this strategic move will significantly accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in a crucial automotive region."

Polestar's decision to adopt Tesla's (TSLA) NACS charging standard aligns with the prevailing trend in the electric vehicle sector, as witnessed over the past few weeks.
