The Polestar Precept was unveiled on February 25, 2020. It is a 4-door electric grand tourer concept car by Polestar, a subsidiary of Volvo Cars and Geely. More often than not, concept cars do not come to fruition. If they do, they're generally vastly different from the concept. However, polestar aims to do differently in turning the Precept into the Polestar 5.

Our ambitions are, well, ambitious. But they’re also grounded in reality. Which is what enables Polestar Precept to metamorphosise into Polestar 5 without a huge number of changes. It will even feature improvements and innovations that are being explored in other concept vehicles. Here, the caterpillar does not become a butterfly. It becomes an even better caterpillar. – Polestar

They are documenting the process of this grand tourer for your enjoyment. "Polestar Precept can, and will, become Polestar 5. We’re even documenting the process, which you can see for yourself (and subscribe to) here." So far there are 6, less than 5 minute, videos that go over things such as the clay model, the exterior design, and interior design. They are informative and give an interesting perspective of the working going into the Polestar 5.

There is yet to be any information with regard to the important specs, cost, battery capacity, operating range, and motor layout. Though, one can speculate based on the Polestar 2's impressive 408 horsepower, 487 lb-ft of torque, and under 5 second 0-60 times.

Polestar seems to feel very sure that the Polestar 5 will come to reality without too many changes. Whether that turns out to be true, only time will tell. However, the production of the Polestar 5 is set to kick off in 2024.
