Today, the Director of AI at Tesla Motors, Andrej Karpathy, announced his decision to part ways from the company.

There is much discourse revolving around the feasibility of Full Self Driving. Many think the decision to go radarless was incorrect. Others say the current hardware will hold FSD back.

The last update to Tesla's Full Self Driving Beta program started rolling out May 26th. As of Mid-July, there has been all but radio silence in the form of updates. Previously, updates had been coming more frequently. Since December, when I received access to beta, you could almost expect an update or two every month.

It is possible that we might see an update sometime in the near future. In a tweet, Elon Musk stated that “We’re already mostly at v11.”.

The merger into a single stack has been talked about for a long time. With this update, it is possible that we are another step closer and even closer to an even better Full Self Driving program.
