The electric vehicles of today are essentially computers on wheels. The amount of software that goes into these new EVs is exponentially more complex than previous generations of cars. As with all software, you will experience software bugs. The Polestar 2 is no exception to these software-related problems. Some of these issues could include false warnings of safety features not working properly or simple things such as the volume display not disappearing.

This simple fix could fix almost any software bug

Fortunately, most of the time, these software bugs are able to be resolved with a simple reboot. Just like computers, the first step to troubleshooting is to restart the device. The Polestar 2 is not much different.

How to reboot the Polestar 2 center display

This reboot will restart the center display of the Polestar 2. This will sometimes fix a lot of the software issues that you might experience in the Polestar 2. Luckily, it is a simple process. The steps can be found below, as well as a video from Polestar showing the steps.

Find the Home button on the center display and hold it for 20 seconds. Continue to hold the button when the screen displays a message. When the screen goes black, you can release the button. The system will now display a message indicating that it is restarting.
