Polestar 2 2.3.1 Update Rolled out To Workshops; Will Not Deploy OTA
Polestar has deployed update 2.3.1 to Polestar Space workshops, but will not be deploying to fleet via OTA update.
Polestar has rolled out update 2.4 to Space Workshops and will not be rolling out via OTA as this is an interim update. Check out the change log here!
Polestar 2 2.3 OTA Update Rollout Was Paused
In the middle of September, Polestar started the rollout of the over-the-air(OTA) update 2.3 to their fleet of Polestar 2's in the United States. I personally proceeded to install the update and was locked out of my Polestar 2 for nearly 12 hours. This was due to instability issues with unlocking the vehicle. In a private Facebook group, Polestar posted the following information stating the pause on 2.3.
We're still experiencing instabilities regarding the issue with unlocking the vehicle with a physical key that was intended to be addressed through software update P2.3. Therefore, we're currently pausing the roll-out of P2.3 to assess the situation further and we'll make an announcement once the roll out for P2.3 resumes. – Polestar
Polestar 2.3.1 OTA update Available From Workshops
Polestar responded to a question regarding the potential of OTA 2.3.1 on their Official Polestar Facebook page, and Polestar responded with the following.

It would seem that a revised version of 2.3, that has the fix for the instability issues, has been provided to Space workshops. It supposedly has the same contents as 2.3, but without the crippling bug. Although, it looks as though 2.3.1 will not be received an OTA push. So it is possible that those who are on older versions, without a service appointment, may have to wait until presumable 2.4 is released.
Polestar 2.2 Update Was Also Stopped Several Times
This is not the first time Polestar has withdrawn an update. Polestar update 2.2 had three variations. The first 2.3 release included Apple Car Play as well as the kph/mph bug. Then there was the 2.2 update for the United States, which lacked Car Play. Then came the final 2.2 release, which included Car Play but also repaired certain flaws created in 2.2.
