Polestar 2 2.3 Update Still Pulled Back
Polestar 2.3 update was pulled back due to instability with unlocking the vehicle. Polestar has been silent on when the update will resume.
Polestar has rolled out update 2.4 to Space Workshops and will not be rolling out via OTA as this is an interim update. Check out the change log here!
About a month ago, the first 2.3 update news showed up on a Swedish Facebook page. This was followed about a month later with the US roll out of 2.3. My Polestar 2 received the update on Sept. 14th. I proceeded to install the update and was locked out of my Polestar 2 for nearly 12 hours.
By the end of the week, there were reports that Polestar had pulled the 2.3 update due to instability with unlocking the vehicle. In a private Facebook group, Polestar posted the following information regarding the update.
We're still experiencing instabilities regarding the issue with unlocking the vehicle with a physical key that was intended to be addressed through software update P2.3. Therefore, we're currently pausing the roll-out of P2.3 to assess the situation further and we'll make an announcement once the roll out for P2.3 resumes. – Polestar
No Update On Resuming 2.3 Rollout
As of Sept. 28th, Polestar has been all but silent about resuming the 2.3 rollout. I have reached out to them via Twitter, but have not received any communication back. I am curious as to how many people were in a similar boat that I was in with getting locked out of their car during the 2.3 update. Although, I believe my situation could have been alleviated slightly, had I had the detachable key blade.
@PolestarCars Any word on when 2.3 OTA will resume rollout?🙃https://t.co/EmnImxTgfj pic.twitter.com/SHk0R4mhEt

Polestar 2.2 Update Was Also Pulled Back Multiple Times
This is not the first time that Polestar has pulled back an update. Polestar update 2.2 actually had 3 variants. There was the initial 2.3 release that had Apple Car play as well as the kph/mph bug. Then there was the 2.2 update for the US that did not have Car Play. Then the final 2.2 version, which has Car Play, but fixed some bugs originally introduced in 2.2. Going forward, I hope that Polestar takes the extra time to quality check the updates and streamline their QA process. I would also like it if Polestar was more communicative on the current status, considering there were so many issues.
