Pro-tip: Plex Works In The Polestar 2 Browser

Have you ever been stuck in your car, waiting in line for something, wishing you could just turn on the TV and watch your latest show? This past weekend, I was stuck in my Polestar 2, waiting in line at the drive-through pharmacy. With the line barely moving, I opened up Plex on the Polestar 2's 11.15-inch (28.32 cm) infotainment display and was happily able to stream from my Plex server with little effort. It made waiting in line more bearable.

How to watch Plex on Polestar 2

The Polestar 2 uses an Android-based operating system that allows the download and installation of apps. Among these apps is the Vivaldi Browser. Simply find Vivaldi Browser in the app store, download, and install the app.

Once the app has been downloaded, you are able to easily browse to your Plex URL. After logging in, you can then access your media from the browser on your Polestar 2. Keep in mind that the browser will only function when the vehicle is in PARK. If the car is shifted into drive, the browser will no longer display. Though, I have noticed that the audio will continue to play in the background sometimes. Fortunately, once the car is placed back into PARK, Plex is able to be quickly accessed again.

Watch Movies or TV Shows While Charging

Sometimes, I use Electrify America to charge my Polestar 2. Depending on how much you need to charge might mean that you are at the charging station for a little while. The ability to access Plex from inside the Polestar 2 means you are able to watch your favorite TV shows or movies from the comfort of your car. This makes waiting to charge more enjoyable and passes time quicker.
