Assembly

Assembly of the GT-Lite requires little effort, and following the instructions provided in the package is relatively easy. While one person can complete the assembly, having an extra set of hands can make the process smoother. It took around 30 minutes to complete the assembly. The GT-Lite has pre-drilled holes for most Logitech, Thrustmaster, and Fanatec wheelbases. It also offers adjustable pedal mounts that will fit a wide array of pedals.

I have a Thrustmaster TMX which uses a clamp to secure the wheelbase. This is just a limitation of the TMX wheel. This slightly reduces the space between the clamp and your lap. However, this will not be a problem for wheelbases that allow for hard mounting.

The GT-Lite comes with a shifter mount that is pre-drilled for most shifters on the market. The cockpit has the ability for the shifter to be mounted on the right or left, depending on preference. I unfortunately do not have a shifter to test.

Adjustments

The GT-Lite offers numerous adjustment points to accommodate users of different sizes and builds. The steering wheel mount can be adjusted both forward and backward, as well as the angle of the wheel, with adjustments reaching 60 degrees. However, during testing, it was found that with too much downward force, the steering wheel mount would creep even though the adjustment knob was tight. This did not affect usage, as it requires a fair amount of force, which was not exerted during gameplay.

The pedals also allow for adjustment for a more angled pedal position of about 15 degrees. As well as a flat pedal position. A possible issue is that the recline position of the back rest is fixed and cannot be adjusted. This may not suit everyone's preferences, and some users may find the seating position too reclined.

Comfort

While the GT-Lite may not offer the same level of comfort as some other fixed rigs on the market, it excels in convenience with its ability to fold away when not in use. This makes it a great option for those with limited space. The seat is made of a fabric mesh material that is breathable to keep you cool during heated laps. There is some padding on the backrest, headrest and thighs, but additional padding has been sacrificed for portability. This can cause some discomfort during extended use. Some users may experience lower back and shoulder discomfort due to the angle of the backrest, which is not adjustable. Adding a lumbar support pillow can help alleviate some discomfort associated with the original position.

Space Savings

The Next Level Racing GT-Lite is an excellent sim racing rig for those who do not have the space for a dedicated setup. This cockpit is designed to allow for easy stowing away. The portable nature allows the rig to be folded away, even with the racing wheel and pedals still installed. The folding design makes the GT-Lite portable, allowing users to take their racing setup from room to room as needed.

Conclusion

The Next Level Racing GT-Lite is a great choice for sim racers who prioritize convenience and space-saving design. While it may not be the most comfortable option on the market when compared to fixed rigs, it is sturdy, well-built, and can handle even the most intense racing sessions. With some adjustments to the seating position, it can be a comfortable option for extended sim racing sessions. The folding feature is convenient, but proper wire management is required to prevent snagging wires during the folding process. The GT-Lite is an excellent choice for those who have limited space and want a realistic and rigid racing solution that is portable and easy to store.
