There are a few Polestar aftermarket accessories available to help you get the most out of your Polestar experience, whether you're already a happy Polestar 2 owner or you're still comparing prices. We've compiled a list of necessary, must-have Polestar accessories of 2022 that current (and future) owners should consider.

Heavy Duty Floor Mats

Rubber floor mats are a good investment because they not only make cleaning your Polestar's flooring easier, but they also help keep your Polestar looking pristine (always a plus, even if you don't want to sell). There are several floor mat alternatives available, but they all provide excellent spill protection in the same way.

Cup Holders

One of the most common complaints about the Polestar 2 cockpit is the lack of cup holders. I drive the Polestar most of the time by myself, so the lack of cup holders isn't a concern. However, there have been times when having an easily accessible second cup holder would have been useful.

Dash Cam

The FitCamX has been the Polestar 2's de facto dash camera. Despite being a feature-rich EV, the Polestar 2 lacks a built-in dash cam. The FitCamX simulates an OEM installation. The general view is that this dash camera produces excellent footage and has a sleek design. With an installation time of fewer than 10 minutes, this is an excellent choice for your new Polestar 2.

Center Console Wrap

Piano black plastic is utilized for the car's center console in the Polestar 2.
While piano black looks excellent in practice, long-term ownership is a bit different. It is first covered in dust and other particles, which takes only a day or two. It becomes damaged and scraped after that and loses its visual attractiveness.
Wrapping the center console is one idea several owners have come up with. Check out my previous post for some more wrap ideas.

Alloy Key Fob Shell

The Polestar 2 key has a poor plastic feel to it. This shell replacement replaces the original cheap plastic with a more luxurious feeling alloy metal. Replacing the key fob shell requires no tools and is quick and simple.

Screen Protector

I buy screen protectors for cars anymore, because they always have a tablet of an infotainment screen these days. At least, that's what I did with the Tesla and now with the Polestar 2. Anyone who has had a cell phone screen break will tell you that replacing a screen protector is much less expensive than replacing the entire screen.

Portable Car Jump Starter

In an emergency, the importance of jumper wires and a Portable Jump Starter cannot be emphasized. There is always the potential of a dead battery. In my opinion, every car should have them. An EV's windows and locks are powered by a 12-volt battery. A battery booster can also be useful in these situations.

Wireless Charging Pad

My 2022 Polestar 2 is only equipped with the Pilot package. This package, while adequate for my needs, lacks a common functionality. A wireless charging dock. Wireless charging elevates the appearance of your vehicle. It allows you to simply insert your phone and charge it as you drive to your destination.

ChargePoint Home Flex Electric Vehicle Charger

Perhaps not an accessory, so I saved it for last, but I currently have a 40 amp breaker connected to a NEMA 6-50 receptacle. Because the breaker is just 40 amps, I can't fully utilize the Polestar 2's quicker 48 amp level 2 charging speeds. With this, ChargePoint electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) being compatible with up to 50 amps, I would be able to take advantage of the full 48 amps of level 2 home charging after upgrading to a 60 amp breaker and hard-wiring the device.

In comparison, I charge at 32 amps, which is around 7.2 kW, and charge from 0 to 100% in about 12 hours. At 8 hours, 48 amps would be around 11 kW. See the Polestar manual for more charging output specs.
